11-Step Guide to Implementing Google AdSense on your durumis Blog

What is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is a Google service that allows you to earn revenue by placing ads on your website or blog.

What are the advantages of using AdSense on a durumis blog?

Durumis blogs are translated into multiple languages, so ads are displayed appropriately for each country based on device location information. In other words, even if you access a Vietnamese page in Korea, you will see Korean ads, but in Vietnam, you will see Vietnamese ads even on Korean pages. Naturally, Korean ads are shown in Korea, and Vietnamese ads are shown in Vietnam.

Things to know before installing AdSense

• Anyone can apply for Google AdSense, but approval is not easy. That's why there's a saying, "AdSense exam." Generally, when applying, there are the following points to consider.
  • You should write 20-30 posts before applying for approval.
  • It's better to have more than 2,000 characters per post.
  • It usually takes 2-4 weeks. (Of course, if you get rejected, it will take that long again)
  • It's better to have some traffic. So, link it with SNS (X, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) to generate traffic.
• Durumis is not involved in the approval of Google AdSense at all, so individual writers need to apply and make an effort. (By effort, we mean "writing good articles consistently and promoting them widely")
• This is the same AdSense used to receive revenue from YouTube operations. Therefore, you can receive payment when the total amount reaches \$100, and the policies are largely similar.
• Google AdSense provides revenue when users read your web page or blog posts, but if the writer clicks on their own ads excessively, it can lead to penalties due to abuse. (= Google policy)

How to install Google AdSense on a durumis blog

Shall we try adding it to the blog?

1. Access the Google AdSense homepage.

• AdSense homepage: https://www.google.com/adsense

2. Click [Sign in] or [Get started] in the upper right corner.

• If you don't have an AdSense account, it will say that it seems to be unconnected. In this case, click [Sign up for a new AdSense account].
• If you have an AdSense account, you will be immediately redirected to the homepage and see the main screen.
  • If you have an account, you can see the "5. Add site" section first.

3. Enter the items

• My sites: Check "I don't have a site yet" or enter https://ID.durumis.com.
• Get the most out of AdSense: If it's your first time, select "Yes, I'd like to receive helpful tips and suggestions for improving my performance by email." They send promotional and informative emails, if you don't need them, you can select "No".
• Country/Region: This cannot be changed later, so if you are Korean and plan to receive payments in [Korean Won], select [South Korea].
• AdSense Terms of Service: After selecting a country, the terms of service will appear. Check "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service".
• [Start using AdSense].

4. Enter information

• On the left, click [Enter information].
• Account type: Select whether you will receive payments to a personal account or a corporate account.
• Name and address: Write in Korean. Also search for and fill in the postal code. Please do not write anything false or inaccurate. Later, a letter will come to verify your address, so think of it as receiving a regular package and fill it out accordingly.

5. Add site

• Click [+ Add site] in the middle, or click [Browse] below, or click [Get started].
• Enter https://ID.durumis.com.
  • ex) https://official.durumis.com

6. Get started

Click [Get started].

7. Click on the added ID.durumis.com site.

Installing AdSense on a durumis blog

To complete the settings in Google AdSense, you also need to enter the Google AdSense pub-ID in durumis.

8. Go to [Settings] → [Earnings] in your durumis blog.

• Or, after logging in, click the https://durumis.com/ko/settings/profit link to go directly there.

9. Enter the pub ID in the [AdSense ID] item.

• You only need to enter the 'numbers' excluding 'pub-', which consists of 16 digits.
• The pub-ID can be copied from the Google AdSense homepage, and you can refer to the image below.

10. Go back to [AdSense] and verify site ownership

Select [Ads.txt snippet]. Check [Publish ads.txt file]. Then click [Confirm].

11. Finally, click [Request review] to finish.

When "Your site has been verified" appears, click [Next] and finally click [Request review].
